The European Quarter hosts a rich diversity of cultural and creative players. creative.hub, the support network for CCIs coordinated by hub.brussels, aims to further boost this dynamic by building bridges between culture and economy. The goal? To make the district even more vibrant, competitive, and internationally open. This mission has been entrusted to the “CCI Localisation” working group, which seeks to identify suitable spaces and bring together property owners, real estate managers and creative entrepreneurs. This approach complements initiatives such as the Brussels Museum Mile project, which brings together major cultural institutions to enhance the district’s attractiveness and vitality.
Experience Europe has recently been updated to bring the EU closer to its visitors. Since opening, more than 134.000 people have explored the European Commission’s exhibition centre in Brussels. Alongside popular virtual reality station, new stations invite audiences in particular to “Call Europe”, “Complete the EU map” and discover more than 100 EU co-funded projects. Haptic and gamified elements add interaction, while information stations highlight the Commission’s priorities and various ways to connect with the EU. All content is now available in 7 languages (ES, DE, EN, FR, IT, NL, PL) and up to 24 EU languages. Free and open 7 days a week, the centre welcomes rising numbers of individuals and groups eager to connect with Europe. And the story continues: a dedicated Forum activity for youth groups is coming soon, ensuring younger audiences find Europe in action. Free and open 7 days a week.
March 17 marks the celebration of St Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s most iconic traditional festival. From the very first days of March, Brussels’ European Quarter will be turned green – at the initiative of the Association des Commerçants du Carrefour Jean Monnet – with shops and streets embracing the national colour of the Emerald Isle. Iconic avenues such as Archimède, Stevin, Franklin and the Schuman roundabout – where the European institutions first took root – will set the scene.
The highlight, of course, will be March 17 itself. The district will proudly claim its status as the place to be, buzzing with a festive atmosphere. Throughout the day, the many pubs and restaurants that line this truly cosmopolitan part of the capital will be alive with music, cheer and celebration.
Brussels has a strong presence of international associations that represent an exceptional ecosystem. By becoming a focal point, The Association Place aims to bring together the wide association community present in Brussels. From education sessions and networking events to sector-specific debates and internal gatherings, The Association Place has hosted various events since its opening and continues to do so. Association Connect offer a themed 90 minute masterclass once a month, Association Welcome Days mid-September are focused on newcomers, and all year-round information sessions introduce lifestyle, professional or local topics to the international audience. Two meeting rooms are also available for rent.
